Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Happy Mother's Day, Part 2

Back in college days I became good friends with a girl who later left school in order to go home to Maine to bear a child (no, not mine). I always admired her for having the baby. When we heard that the Dead would be in Portland for Mother's Day, my girlfriend and I went up there to take her to the show, and it was a good one:

It has a great song list, the vibe was good, and an exceptional Scarlet/Fire to open the second set. I would like to offer up this show to honor the '70s generation mothers and also to honor Barry Glassberg, without whom we would have no record whatsoever of many outstanding shows, such as this one.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Deadhead Moms who have persevered through the "free love" era!
